Virtual Programs
Upcoming Dates
  • November - December, 2021

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced us all to adapt our lives and mission to the need to stay distanced, healthy, and safe. Despite these new challenges, we at Tantur remain committed to protecting our bonds of community, and to offering ways for people from all over the world to experience the tranquility, history, culture, and sacred beauty of the Holy Land.

Our new circumstances have provided us with an opportunity to direct our mission towards new online programming in the form of virtual retreats. We hope that since you can not join us in the Holy Land, we can bring the Holy Land to you.

We are providing these retreats in collaboration with the Ignatian Spirituality Communities in Geneva and Glasgow, and John XXIII Parish

Online Lenten Program

  • Lenten retreat - Knowing Jesus: starts 17 February, 2021
  • Stations of the Cross in the Holy Land: starts 19 February, 2021
  • Holy Week series from and in the Holy Land: starts 28 March, 2021

As we begin to prepare for Easter, we are happy to share with you three programs that are available to us as a community of faith, where we can journey together as fellow pilgrims. Everyone is most welcome to join all or some of the programs. The invitation is that we journey together in love and joy towards Easter. The basis of the Lenten retreat is Ignatian Spirituality.

Virtual Advent Holy Land Retreat

"Preparing the way to welcome Jesus into our life"

This year, to prepare us for the birth of our saviour Jesus, the Tantur Ecumenical Institute is partnering with the Ignatian Spirituality Community in Geneva, the Ignatian Spirituality Center in Glasgow, and the John XXIII Parish in Geneva, to offer an online retreat. Holy Land-based tour guides will bring you virtually to some of the Holy sites in Jerusalem, Nazareth, the Judean desert and Bethlehem, while Jewish and Christian scholars will provide five lectures to help us deepen our understanding of our faith and the Holy Scriptures.

To find out more about the retreat, please visit the website and view the online application form.
