Fr Koryoun Baghdasarian was born in Armenia in 1980 and arrived in Jerusalem in 1995 to begin studies at the seminary of the Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem. He was ordained a priest in 2003. He studied at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and holds a BA in Education, Sociology and Anthropology, a master’s degree in Administration, Policy and Leadership in Education and another one in International Relations. Among other positions, he has been the secretary of the Synod, of the Religious Tribunal, the representative of the Armenian Patriarchate on the Status Quo Committee for the Holy Places, the director of the Theological Seminary of the Armenian Patriarchate in Jerusalem. He is also representative of the Armenian Patriarchate in WCC, in the Palestinian Bible Society and was very recently appointed Director of the Real Estate department of the Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem.
Since 2006 he has been teaching Armenian Church history at the Armenian Theological Seminary in Jerusalem and has published a book on the subject.
It is this history, which he knows perfectly and which he loves deeply, that he will share with us through the small stories telling the determining and original role of the Armenians in Jerusalem.
