Dorothy Jean Weaver is Professor Emerita of New Testament at Eastern Mennonite Seminary, Harrisonburg, VA. She holds a PhD from Union Presbyterian Seminary and an MDiv from Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary. Dorothy Jean’s publications include The Irony of Power: The Politics of God within Matthew’s Narrative (Pickwick, 2017) and Matthew’s Missionary Discourse: A Literary Critical Analysis (Sheffield, 1990). Dorothy Jean has also led numerous “alternative travel” tours to the Middle East for Eastern Mennonite Seminary and Virginia Mennonite Missions. And she has taught New Testament courses and/or presented New Testament lectures in Beirut, Bethlehem, Jerusalem, Cairo, Sighisoara (Romania), and Debre Zeit (Ethiopia).
