Tantur Spiritual Retreat Program
2019 Program Dates: 18/11-26/11
Tantur Ecumenical Institute will be offering an eight-day guided retreat on its campus in Jerusalem in the tradition of Ignatian spirituality.
This retreat will be an opportunity for participants to pray in silence and meditate on the Bible within the physical context of the Holy Land, all within a short distance of both the Old City of Jerusalem and the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem. During periods of private reflection and prayer, participants will be able to make full use of the beautiful Tantur garden and surrounding olive groves as autumn gives way to winter, as well as our two chapels and our extensive library of religious texts. The program is designed to include opportunity for fellowship with pilgrims if so desired, as well as time for personal journeys to local pilgrimage sites and Christian places of worship within the Jerusalem-Bethlehem area.
The retreat will be given by Fr. Hans Putman, S.J. Fr. Hans Putman lives in Bethlehem. After being involved in pastoral work for more than 40 years all over the Middle East, Fr. Putman now spends his time offering Ignatian spiritual retreats to groups, individuals, and and religious communities. The 2019 program will run from Monday, November 18th until Tuesday, November 26th.
