Dr. Daniel Schwake, Executive Director

Dr. Daniel Schwake was appointed the executive director for the University of Notre Dame in Jerusalem in April 2019.  Schwake joined Notre Dame after a decade in the consulting industry. He most recently held the position of principal (associate partner) in the strategy consulting firm Oliver Wyman. He provided advice to top executives of large corporations, financial institutions, regulators and ministries. He has led the execution of high profile engagements across the globe, covering a wide range of topics, incl. enterprise-wide strategy, financial planning, risk and regulation, re-organisation, and restructuring.  Previously, Schwake held a similar position with Deloitte and had previously also worked in asset management with Deutsche Bank Group.  He holds a B.Sc. and Diploma (M.Sc.) in business administration from the University of Münster, and a doctorate in economics from the University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany.  Schwake speaks fluent English, German, Arabic and Hebrew.

Mark Mina

Mark Mina, Director of Operations and Facility Management

Involved in Jerusalem's Catholic, Coptic and Orthodox communities, Mark Mina is a practical example of ecumenical Christianity in the Holy Land.  As Director of Operations and Facility Management, Mark is responsible for day-to-day facilities management, oversees administration of facilities staff, Human Resources, IT, Landscaping and assists the Executive Director with the many challenges that come with administration and upkeep of our large institution, its buildings and property.  Mark has BA in Finance, MA Degree in Organizational Counseling and MA in International Cooperation and Development; he brings over a decade of nonprofit financial and administrative management experience to the University of Notre Dame at Tantur. He is married with three children, and is active in many Palestinian Christian civic organizations. 

Jiries Asfour

Jiries Asfour, Director of Finance

Jiries Asfour has a BA in Accounting and a CPA degree. He started working at the University of Notre Dame at Tantur in 2016; he is responsible for all financial matters.  He has eight years of auditing experience. He is a resident of Jerusalem, and was married in the summer of 2016.
